Country filters match explicit article text; employer headquarters are not used. Official charts count the selected company’s own feed; independent mentions include stories from other publishers. Charts cover only ingested sources, not all market news. Stock prices and prediction markets provide context; neither proves a hiring change nor affects the hiring ranking.

Running a software development business during wartime in Ukraine
When Conscensia established its development center in Ukraine 20 years ago, no one could have imagined the circumstances under which we would one day be running it. Since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, our colleagues have continued developing software for international customers while living and working in a country at war. Maintaining business continuity at our Lviv Tech Hub has required preparation, contingency plans, clear communication and the ability to adapt quickly. But some of the most important lessons have been about people, local leadership, trust and the value of long-term relationships. As Conscensia celebrates its 20th anniversary, we look back at what more than four years of operating in Ukraine during full-scale war have taught us about resilience, business continuity and long-term software development partnerships.

Why customers stay: Building development partnerships that last
Signing a new customer is one thing. Still working together 10 or 15 years later tells a much bigger story. As Conscensia celebrates its 20th anniversary, some of our longest customer relationships have now lasted for most of our history. Systematic, Getinge and Kamstrup are among the customers with whom we have celebrated 15-year partnerships, while Saxo has worked with Conscensia since 2014. For us, these relationships are an important measure of success. Because while finding skilled software developers is often the reason a customer initially comes to Conscensia, it is rarely the only reason they stay for a decade or more. So, what makes customers stay? For many customers, the starting point is a familiar challenge: they need software developers with specific competencies, but finding them locally is difficult.

20 Years of Conscensia: Technology Changes – Great Teams Still Come Down to People
Programming languages have come and gone. Cloud computing has transformed how software is built and delivered. Agile development has become mainstream. AI is changing the industry again. Conscensia has changed too. What began 20 years ago with dedicated development teams in Ukraine has grown into an international organisation approaching 300 colleagues, with a significant presence in both Ukraine and Poland and long-term relationships with technology companies across Northern Europe. But ask our CEO Line Færch Milthers, who has spent 17 of those 20 years at Conscensia, what has mattered most, the answer is less about technology than you might expect. “Almost everything around us has changed during those 20 years – the technologies, the size of the company, the countries we operate in and the challenges our customers face. But one thing has remained remarkably consistent: Conscensia has always been a people business. Our strongest customer relationships are built on trust, and the best teams are the ones where people feel that they genuinely belong.”

A day of AI and Cybersecurity in Practice – Warsaw 22 October 2026
In 2026, Conscensia celebrates its 20th anniversary. To mark the occasion, we are bringing customers, colleagues and industry experts together in Warsaw on 22 October for a conference focused on AI and cybersecurity in practice. The conference will feature external keynote speakers on AI and cybersecurity, along with customer perspectives on what it means to work with distributed development teams in the AI era. Our customers Systematic, Saxo and Plandent will share their experiences and discuss how software development and technology organisations are evolving. Permission to Ship: Turning AI Governance into an Adoption Engine A broad perspective on digital transformation, emerging technologies and the practical impact of AI on organisations. One Team, Across Borders How leadership, culture, and empowerment help distributed teams thrive through transformation and AI-driven change.
