The Humane Agentic Enterprise: How To Thrive with AI at Work

Agentic AI is helping us do things we couldn’t do before. But could it also be weakening the skills we already have? To explore this tension, Salesforce researchers are studying how knowledge workers are using AI to expand their capabilities while preserving the human expertise and judgment that make their work valuable. A senior designer-engineer we interviewed, who had relied heavily on AI for months, described freezing when his partner asked him to help write something. He felt he’d forgotten how. Meanwhile, an engineering architect described the opposite experience: “Some of the things I wanted to do and couldn’t before,” he said, “I can do now.” The question isn’t simply whether AI makes us more productive. It’s how we design our interactions with AI to make us better at what we do. That tension is the biggest question for anyone working with AI right now: how do you get the lift without losing the skill?

Data 360 × Snowflake: Powering the Agentic Enterprise with Zero Copy

- From Enterprise Data to Enterprise Context - Unlocking Trapped Data by Breaking Down Data Boundaries - Taking Zero Copy Further - Bridging Enterprise Data and AI - Next Steps & Availability The AI model itself is no longer the differentiator it once was. Enterprises increasingly have access to the same powerful foundation models. What will separate the leaders is something far more valuable: the context of their business. Customer relationships. Transactions. Product usage. Conversations. Documents. Business definitions. Institutional knowledge. This context is unique to every company—and it is what allows AI to move from generating answers to understanding a business and acting on its behalf. The challenge is that the enterprise context doesn’t live in one place. It spans Salesforce, data platforms like Snowflake, applications, documents, conversations, and countless other systems.  This is why we built Data 360. And with our Zero Copy partnership with Snowflake, we enable organizations to seamlessly connect and harness their enterprise context wherever it resides.

Datablazer Roundup: October

Gather ’round, Datablazers. It’s spooky season, and we’ve got your monthly dose of what Datablazers are reading, writing, watching, building, and talking about in the latest Datablazer Roundup. This October, Datablazers have been digging into the details: forecasting without a data science team, keeping Zero Copy data trustworthy, turning Agentforce plans into real deployments, and making sure there aren’t any skeletons hiding in your data before AI gets involved. From hands-on tutorials to community-built tools and lessons learned along the way, there’s plenty to uncover. Not every forecasting question deserves its own machine learning project. In Forecasting Without the Data Science Team, Avni Wadhwa explores how Data 360 Forecasting and the Moirai 2.0 time-series foundation model can make forecasting more accessible.

7 Agentic Service Strategies For Startups

You built your reputation one conversation at a time. The question now is whether you can keep that up as more people show up asking for help. Here’s the problem: Leads and support tickets don’t wait for business hours, and neither do your competitors. When a customer reaches out and nobody answers fast enough, that relationship — the one you worked hard to earn — starts to wobble. This guide walks you through some practical agentic service tips so you can respond faster and keep the trust you’ve built. Agentic service uses autonomous AI agents that can understand the context of customer requests, reason through multistep plans, and take action to resolve issues on their own‌ — ‌rather than with a scripted decision tree. Because these agents are built directly in your business tools, they can check case histories, update records, and execute workflows with your customer relationship management (CRM), 24/7. Every founder running a lean team knows the feeling: Leads slip through, tickets pile up, and you’re the one everyone still expects to jump in personally. Agentforce for Service exists for exactly this problem — to make sure customer service risks your most important relationships less often. Salesforce’s own research found 65% of teams using AI report more opportunities to focus on developing customer relationships instead of chasing tickets.

Do AI Experiences Enable Human Strengths to Shine?

People bring their own ideas to AI, give it context it can’t infer, and check answers they remain responsible for. How could the experiences we design make those contributions easier? At Dreamforce, the Salesforce Research & Insights team asked 2,714 Trailblazers which human strengths they already bring to their work with AI, which they want to bring more of, and how they apply them. The research wall activity we hosted was one wide-angle look at this question. It sits alongside a deeper research partnership with the Salesforce Office of Ethical and Humane Use on how experts encode their judgment to get higher-quality outcomes with AI. The responses, from a self-selected group of conference participants, inspired five questions designers might consider when they build AI experiences. Who gets to offer the first idea: the person or AI?Does the experience build on people’s expertise, or make them explain it all over again? Is it as easy to check and challenge an AI answer as it is to accept it?Is verification built into the work, or left for people to remember? How could the experience help people build trust with others?Bring these questions into your next design review

Is Price Skimming Right for Your Business? Here’s How to Find Out

Bringing an innovative or new offering to the market is exciting. You have the opportunity to claim nearly 100% market share with little to no competition, at least for now. But your success depends on the pricing strategy you choose. Targeting less price-sensitive customers, like those willing to pay higher prices to be a product’s first users, can be an effective pricing strategy for those in your situation — one known as price skimming. But when is the right time to use this strategy, and what does it involve? Read on to learn more about how to use price skimming strategically. When sales, finance, and legal are disconnected, the customer feels the pain. Learn how Revenue Cloud can help.

7 Architectural Lessons From Building With the Tooling API

Consider the following scenario: You try to delete an unused field on Account, but it is referenced in an obsolete flow version from eighteen months ago that nobody remembers building. You open the flow, scroll its version history, and start deactivating and removing flow versions one at a time. In an org with hundreds of flows and thousands of accumulated flow versions, this stops being a task and becomes a tax you pay on every cleanup, refactor, and deployment. To help clear that type of backlog at scale, I built and open-sourced a Flow Version Cleaner, a tool that uses the Tooling API to prune obsolete flow versions safely. What I expected to be a weekend project became a sequence of lessons about how the Tooling API behaves beyond the happy path, where everything works as expected. This post covers those lessons, which include identifying assumptions that break at run time, tackling dependencies and unexpected requirements, maintaining reliable state across asynchronous executions, and designing destructive operations to fail safely. The Flow Version Cleaner follows three key requirements:

The Consignment Process: Practical Steps for Businesses

You’ve got a product you believe in, and you’re staring down the cost of shelf space, marketing, and inventory just to get it in front of customers. That’s the tension every ambitious business owner runs into eventually: You know the product will sell, but you don’t want to sink cash into a storefront before you’ve proven it. The consignment process solves exactly that problem — it lets you place your goods in someone else’s store and only pay (or get paid) once something sells. This guide walks through what consignment is, why small businesses and startups use it, and the practical steps to run the consignment process well. We’ll also cover the terms you need in writing before you hand over a single box, and how a customer relationship management (CRM) system keeps everything from slipping through the cracks. In the consignment process, you (the consignor) retain ownership of your goods until a retailer (the consignee) sells them to a customer — the retailer only pays you a share once the sale happens. It’s a flexible arrangement that lets a small and medium business (SMB) get shelf space without buying inventory outright or leasing a storefront. That’s a meaningfully different deal than a traditional wholesale sale, where a retailer buys your stock and takes on all the risk and reward from there. With consignment, you’re still on the hook if goods are damaged, lost, or simply don’t sell — but you get exposure and a shot at new customers you couldn’t reach alone. Consignment tends to work best for handmade goods, art, apparel, and specialty items — the kinds of products that benefit from being seen and touched in person before someone pulls out their wallet.
