The Emmys have a new home — and it looks like Amazon paid plenty for the rights. The awards show and Amazon announced a six-year deal that will move the Emmys from its traditional broadcast television home to Prime Video. The shift begins with the 2027 ceremony, which will air next September, though you won’t actually have to sign up for Prime Video to watch it. The announcement instead says that the stream “will be free to view for audiences worldwide.” According to Deadline, Amazon paid around $20-25 million per year for the rights, making the deal worth upwards of $120 million. “Our broadcast partners have been tremendous stewards of the Emmys for many years, helping to build them into the cultural institution they are today,” Cris Abrego, chair of the Television Academy, said in a statement. “Having a dedicated home with Prime Video allows us to build on that legacy with unprecedented global reach and a broader commitment to the Television Academy and our mission throughout the year.” The news comes as streaming services are looking for tentpole live events to add to their offerings, and awards shows have become a particularly popular choice. Netflix snapped up the rights to the SAG awards, while the Oscars will be moving to YouTube in 2029. Meanwhile, streaming services have also come to dominate the Emmys. At this year’s awards, Apple TV had the most wins of any network, led by Widow’s Bay, which won a total of 14 awards.

Starting on October 9th, anyone using Google Gemini on a free plan will be limited to the Flash Lite model. Free users can currently choose from Gemini Flash Lite, Flash, and Pro, but now you’ll need a $4.99/month Google AI Plus subscription to access the standard Flash model. However, that subscription is also getting a downgrade – it will soon no longer include Gemini Pro. Google says AI Plus subscribers will receive an email letting them know when they’ll lose access to it. After these changes, access to the top-tier Gemini Pro model and a “Deep Think” advanced reasoning option will be restricted to users with a Google AI Pro or Ultra subscription, which cost $19.99 or $99.99 per month, respectively. Google says users will still be able to choose from low, medium, and high effort levels for each model, but using higher effort levels could burn through your Gemini usage limit faster.

TL;DR: Scan results show what is exposed right now only if you can rescan the moment risk changes, and most tools still wait for the next scheduled cycle. Aqua real time scanning lets teams start an on demand scan from the Aqua Hub or API, rescan only what changed in an image and use one architecture across SaaS, hybrid, multi-cloud, on premises and air gapped environments. Aqua then focuses attention on findings with available exploits and runtime context from running workloads. Real time vulnerability scanning is the ability to scan a specific image on demand instead of waiting for the next scheduled cycle. That matters because a scan result can go out of date in two ways after it is produced. The image itself can change when a team rebuilds or patches it. The vulnerability intelligence can also change when a new CVE is published against packages the image already contains, which leaves an unchanged image newly vulnerable. In either case, a real time scan returns a result that reflects both the image and the vulnerability data as they exist right now. Attackers move faster than scan schedules, so the value of a scan result now depends on how current it is. In cloud native environments, new workloads start with every deployment and running containers can drift from what the pipeline originally scanned. A scheduled scan accurately describes the environment at the moment it ran, and every change after that becomes a blind spot. When a new vulnerability is disclosed, teams end up answering a question about production today with results from an earlier cycle, often pieced together by hand from more than one console.

Telecom operators are increasingly building their AI strategies on open models — and the reasons go beyond mere cost. Open models give telcos the ability to trust, control and customize AI across their most critical workloads — from autonomous networks to customer care. NVIDIA’s latest State of AI in Telecommunications report reflects this shift, with 89% of respondents reporting that open source models and software are important to their company’s AI strategy. For operators, the strategic value of open models is fivefold:

- Prime Video will be the exclusive global home of the Emmy Awards for six years, beginning with the 2027 ceremony. - The awards will stream live and free—no subscription required—in more than 240 countries and territories. - The deal replaces the Television Academy's traditional rotation among broadcast networks ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC. In a historic first, the Television Academy and Prime Video today announced a landmark six-year deal establishing Prime Video as the exclusive global home of the Emmy Awards, ushering in a bold, innovative vision to propel the cultural icon into its next chapter. The historic pact succeeds the Television Academy’s traditional “Wheel Deal” rotation among broadcast networks ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC, which concluded with this year's telecast. By shifting from a rotating model to a dedicated, long-term agreement, the Television Academy has secured a permanent home for the gold standard of excellence available to audiences worldwide. Since their inception in 1949, the Emmy Awards have captured the global imagination, celebrating the stories, creators, and performances that define the cultural zeitgeist. This new alliance ensures that TV’s premier honors will continue to adapt to a changing media landscape, embracing the future of how audiences consume great television.

Here’s a familiar scenario for enterprise advertisers: the data team has done real work. There’s a churn model in production, an LTV score that identifies customers worth investing in, and attribution data showing which creative drove revenue. Meanwhile, the media team is adjusting campaign budgets using the numbers in Meta Ads Manager. The insights that could change those decisions are still a handoff away: a CSV export, a custom Marketing API integration someone has to maintain, or a recurring Thursday sync where everyone hopes the findings make it into the next campaign. The ads MCP server from Meta, now available in Databricks Marketplace, gives marketers a more direct path from those insights to campaign decisions. By connecting the ads MCP server to Genie, marketers can use natural language to explore Meta campaign performance alongside their governed business data in Databricks. The churn score, the margin table, and the campaign results can now inform the same conversation. This release expands our collaboration with Meta, following the launch ofMeta Conversions API on Databricks Marketplace, which helps advertisers send first-party conversion signals from Databricks to Meta to improve ad measurement and optimization.
