Role description

We are seeking a highly capable JavaScript Engineering Manager with a passion for building rich, responsive web and hybrid-mobile applications. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Next.js to guide your team in delivering fast, SEO-friendly, and mobile-first user interfaces, while working closely with backend engineers, UX designers, and product owners to translate interactive designs into clean, modular, and reusable front-end code.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build high-performance, responsive web applications using React and Next.js (utilizing features like SSR, SSG, and API routes)
  • Implement pixel-perfect, mobile-first designs that adapt seamlessly across devices, with a specific focus on optimizing layouts, animations, and touch interactions for mobile viewports (including iOS/Android browsers)
  • Manage complex client-side state and integrate applications with backend RESTful or GraphQL APIs
  • Profile and optimize applications for maximum loading speed, Core Web Vitals, and smooth rendering on lower-powered mobile devices
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Conduct thorough code reviews and contribute to the shared UI component library
  • Guide and mentor the engineering team in front-end development best practices
  • Collaborate with backend engineers, UX designers, and product owners to translate interactive designs into functional interfaces

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in modern web development with a strong focus on building user-facing features
  • 1+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Expertise in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, and React
  • Proficiency in the Next.js framework (App Router or Pages Router, Server Components)
  • Familiarity with modern CSS frameworks or methodologies, such as Tailwind CSS, styled-components, and CSS Modules
  • Experience in optimizing web apps for mobile browsers, PWAs (Progressive Web Apps), or integrating web views within hybrid mobile containers
  • Experience with Git and working in an Agile/Scrum development cycle
  • Experience managing client-side state solutions, such as Redux, Zustand, and Context API
