Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Lab Engineer to support our Power Electronics R&D team in prototyping and testing activities. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on soldering experience with fine-pitch components (including 0201, 0402, BGA, and QFN packages), high-voltage electrical wiring, and test setup assembly. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of lab activities and supporting engineering teams in product development and validation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Component Handling & Soldering:
  • Perform precise soldering and rework of fine-pitch components such as 0201, 0402, BGA, and QFN packages.
  • Use microscopes and reflow equipment for accurate placement and inspection of components.
  • Handling and operating power electronics lab equipment.
  • Purchase and maintain component inventory and proper storage of sensitive electronic components.
  • Rework and fix assembly-related issues on non-working PCBs.
  • Test Setup Assembly:
  • Build and wire custom test setups based on engineering schematics and requirements.
  • Route and terminate cables, connectors, and harnesses for electrical testing.
  • Ensure all setups meet safety and quality standards.
  • Lab Maintenance & Support:
  • Organize and maintain lab equipment, tools, and workstations.
  • Calibrate and troubleshoot basic lab instruments (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies).
  • Assist engineers in executing test procedures and collecting data.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Understand electrical schematic connections.
  • Maintain accurate records of test setups, wiring diagrams, and component usage.
  • Support the creation of test reports and logs for engineering review.
  • Safety & Compliance:
  • Follow ESD-safe practices and lab safety protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 6 to 10 years of experience in a power electronics lab support or similar role.
  • Proficiency in soldering fine-pitch components and reading electrical schematics.
  • Familiarity with lab instruments and basic troubleshooting techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good communication, behavioral, and interpersonal skills.
