Role description
EPAM is seeking a Lead Full-Stack Developer (Java+ Golang) with AI solution engineering expertise to join an engineering team delivering the core platform foundation for a global leader in cloud-first networking and security services. The client specializes in DNS, DHCP, and IP address management (IPAM) solutions, enabling enterprises to manage and secure their networks at scale.
In this role, you will leverage cutting-edge technology to build everything from intuitive, responsive user interfaces to the services and APIs that power them. As a Full-Stack Cloud Platform Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing end-to-end cloud networking solutions and contribute to the next generation of the platform. AI experience is essential for this position - you will be expected to design and integrate AI-driven capabilities that enhance network intelligence, automation, and platform decision-making, as well as leverage AI-augmented development practices to accelerate delivery and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Develop, design, and maintain features across the full stack; iteratively deploy services using cloud-based architecture
- Design and implement AI-powered features and intelligent automation within the platform
- Build responsive, high-quality user interfaces and the back-end services that support them
- Design and implement components of the client's Next Generation Platform
- Develop REST & gRPC APIs and contribute to the overall API framework, ensuring a seamless contract between front-end and back-end
- Own key front-end and back-end components of the platform
- Recommend improvements to system reliability, performance, usability, and quality
- Work closely with cross-functional product, design, and platform teams
- Stay current on key trends across web technologies, cloud platforms, networking solutions, and AI/ML engineering
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in software development, with proven experience in a full-stack or similar role
- Demonstrated experience with AI/ML solution engineering - designing, integrating, and deploying AI-driven features in production systems (e.g., intelligent automation, AI-assisted decision-making, LLM integration, or prompt engineering)
- Strong proficiency in Java and Golang
- Proficiency in modern front-end development: JS/TS, React, Angular
- Hands-on experience with Kafka, microservices, and databases
- Excellent understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Good knowledge of networking on cloud platforms, preferably DNS, DHCP, or IPAM
- Experience with system architecture and design patterns across both client and server tiers
- Knowledge of API design and development, including RESTful principles and gRPC
- Experience in microservices development with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex full-stack and network issues
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Nice to have
- Familiarity with back-end web frameworks (e.g., Gin, Echo) and understanding of concurrency patterns (Goroutines and channels)
- Experience with LLM APIs, RAG architectures, or ML model serving at scale
- Background in cloud networking security solutions
- Experience leading technical design discussions and mentoring engineers
- Exposure to observability and monitoring tooling at scale
- Prior work in a product engineering or SaaS environment
