Role description

We are seeking a Lead Platform Engineer/DevOps AWS to join a global Cloud Hosting team, taking ownership of EKS cluster management, infrastructure automation, and platform reliability while working closely with customers to enable streamlined application and service development on cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage EKS clusters and related automations across the global Cloud Hosting team
  • Solve problems at every layer of the technology stack
  • Develop high quality, stable code for automation and internal customer facing APIs
  • Participate in the Support and On-call rota, providing support to customers on Cloud Engineering services (one week per 2-3 months, additional bonus applies)
  • Write and publish High Level Designs and developer documentation
  • Participate in bottom up planning around release schedules, workload, and priorities
  • Design for privacy, security, compliance, high availability, performance, and resilience across all web services and infrastructure capabilities
  • Ensure fast turnaround of feature requests and bug fixes for customers
  • Reduce engineering effort required to provision, deploy, configure, update, and repair applications, games, or services running on cloud infrastructure
  • Collaborate with multiple teams across the globe to evolve Cloud Infrastructure and Online Game Developer Experience practices

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or DevOps roles, with a strong background in AWS or GCP
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, ideally including Vault, Kyverno, and policy management
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, or Bash, with proven experience in an IaC approach
  • Expertise in Terraform and AWS cloud services
  • Familiarity with Docker, Ansible, and networking concepts
  • Knowledge of MongoDB
  • Basic knowledge of Go, with the flexibility to complete a short test task on GoLang before the client interview and the capability to learn GoLang quickly
  • Strong communication skills and client centricity
  • Ability to participate in an On-Call support rota (one week per 2-3 months, compensated as an additional bonus)
  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher
