We're passionate about crafting the best experience for our users, and empowering any business on Wix to realize its full financial potential. We have developed our own custom payment processing solution that blends many integrations into one clean and intuitive user interface. We also build innovative products that help our users manage their cash and grow their business.

Job description

We're looking for a talented Applied Data Scientist to join Wix Payments and help us develop advanced AI and machine learning solutions for the payments domain. You'll work at the intersection of data science, AI research, and software engineering, turning product and risk management ideas into production-grade solutions that have a real business impact.

In your day-to-day, you will

• Apply AI to payments and risk data, including developing and implementing skills, agents, evaluation frameworks, and solutions that combine capabilities across different domains
• Develop and maintain machine learning models for fraud detection and risk management
• Research and experiment with state-of-the-art AI and machine learning approaches, identifying opportunities to solve complex business and operational challenges
• Build and deploy reliable production systems at scale, working closely with data engineering and infrastructure teams
• Monitor data pipeline performance and troubleshoot issues
• Lead engineering standards for the team and collaborate with members of the BA and DE guilds
• Work closely with Wix Payments' Business Analysts, Data Engineers, Product Managers, Software Engineers, and other teams across Wix

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in Applied Data Science or 2+ years of Applied Data Science experience combined with a strong software engineering background, including experience building production-grade AI/ML systems
• Experience with Generative AI, such as context engineering, automatic evaluation, and agentic frameworks like LangChain or Google ADK
• Strong Python programming skills and experience with modern machine learning frameworks and tools
• Strong knowledge of AI fundamentals and related engineering principles
• Independent and quick learner
• Open-minded, capable of coming up with creative solutions, and adaptable to frequently changing circumstances and technological advances
• Exceptional communication skills in English
• Experience with open-source LLMs fine-tuning - an advantage
