Role description
We are in search of a Senior Automation Engineer to join our team. This role involves designing, building, and supporting enterprise-grade solutions built on Microsoft Power Platform and modern SharePoint frameworks to strengthen IT, Business, and Operations areas. The position combines hands-on development with operational support, with an emphasis on reliability, scalability, and ongoing improvement. Awareness of AI capabilities within the Microsoft ecosystem is essential, and experience with Copilot and agent-based solutions is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Architect and build solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Dataverse, and modern SharePoint, with SPFx considered a bonus
- Maintain strong performance, stability, and security across multiple systems supporting Finance and Science, delivering workarounds, root-cause analysis, and lasting fixes
- Assess and roll out AI capabilities throughout the Microsoft ecosystem, including Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Platform AI Builder, and agent-based automation
- Deliver 2nd and 3rd line support for applications and platforms, covering incident, task, change, and release management in line with client standards
- Take full ownership of issues and deliverables from start to resolution or escalation, ensuring clear communication and thorough documentation
- Develop integrations using Power Platform connectors, custom connectors, Graph API, and SharePoint REST, while managing data models in Dataverse and SQL
- Coordinate with business stakeholders, product owners, infra/middleware teams, and third-party vendors to resolve issues, prioritize the backlog, and pinpoint process improvements
Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant experience
- Practical experience with Power Apps, including canvas and/or model-driven apps, Power Automate flows, Dataverse schema design, security roles, and environment management
- Experience with SharePoint Online from an application standpoint, including sites, lists, libraries, permissions, and REST/Graph API, with SPFx exposure viewed as a plus
- Understanding of AI capabilities within Microsoft 365, such as Copilot, Copilot Studio, and AI Builder, along with the ability to scope, design, or support AI-enabled solutions; experience with agent-based automations is desirable
- Working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS for customizing Power Platform and modern SharePoint experiences
- Solid understanding of incident, problem, change, and release management processes, with experience providing production support for business-critical applications
- Experience building solutions using standard Power Platform connectors, custom connectors, Graph/REST APIs, and basic SQL/data handling
- Ability to document solutions, configurations, and runbooks while maintaining alignment with enterprise standards and compliance
- Excellent English proficiency (B2 level or higher)
Nice to have
- Experience with SPFx development, including React, Fluent UI, and SharePoint PnP libraries
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps or GitHub for source control, pipelines, ALM accelerators, solution packaging, and environment strategies
- Knowledge of Power BI, data modeling, and performance optimization for analytics scenarios
- Understanding of DLP policies, data residency, and role-based access within Power Platform and M365
- Experience setting up and managing dev/test/prod environments, feature flags, and configuration
