Role description

We are seeking a Principal Forward Deployed AI Engineer to own end-to-end AI delivery across multiple streams, leading mini-teams and partnering closely with business stakeholders, solution architects, data engineers and analysts to design, build and scale production-grade agentic AI systems.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end AI delivery across two streams, lead a mini-team per stream (Senior AI Engineer, AI Engineer, DQ Engineer, Analyst)
  • Embed with business stakeholders, the GE Solution Architect, data engineers and analysts to refine requirements and user journeys
  • Brainstorm and own the agent architecture/harness and its connections to data sources
  • Design SME/end-user feedback loops that drive continuous agent improvement
  • Design evaluation pipelines and stand up the agent-evaluation process
  • Design the observability/telemetry layer
  • Decide which user journeys are best served via chat vs A2UI
  • Influence ETL, transformation and vectorization decisions with data engineering

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, with a track record of leading teams and owning end-to-end delivery of production AI systems
  • Expertise in agent architecture design and orchestration frameworks, including RAG pipelines and harness design
  • Proficiency in Vertex AI Search, BigQuery and NL2SQL
  • Skills in integrating external APIs and data sources into agentic systems
  • Background in designing evaluation pipelines, including LLM-as-judge methodologies and golden set curation for citations/completeness
  • Knowledge of observability and telemetry systems, including tracing, quality metrics and BigQuery telemetry
  • Understanding of ETL, data transformation and vectorization processes
  • Familiarity with chat and A2UI interaction paradigms to determine optimal user journey design
