Senior/Lead Java Developer

We're looking for a Senior/Lead Java Developer to join our global delivery team in a fully remote working mode. In this role, you will work on a strategic project for a leading global financial market infrastructure provider, developing scalable, data-driven platforms that support critical business operations across international markets. You will design and deliver high-performance applications using modern Java frameworks, microservice architecture, and cloud-native technologies, while also focusing on AI-enabled innovation and automation to improve user experience and real-time decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain applications using Java (17+) and Spring Boot or Quarkus
• Build reliable, scalable microservices aligned with RESTful APIs and HTTP standards
• Design and deploy serverless solutions using AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and Step Functions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize system performance and simplify user workflows
• Implement CI/CD pipelines via GitLab, ensuring automation and robust deployment practices
• Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles for unit, integration, and contract tests
• Maintain data accuracy and quality across application workflows and reference data
• Create API documentation with OpenAPI/Swagger and enforce clean code principles
• Leverage DevOps tools (Terraform, Docker) for infrastructure automation
• Explore and integrate AI capabilities to support advanced analytics and automation
• Stay current with emerging trends in Java development and AI-driven application design

Requirements

• 5+ years of proven experience in Java development (Java 17 or newer)
• Strong background in Spring Boot and/or Quarkus frameworks
• Hands-on experience in microservices architecture and RESTful API design
• Knowledge of cloud-native development, with hands-on AWS experience (EKS, Lambda, S3, DocumentDB, Bedrock, Step Functions)
• Familiarity with both SQL and NoSQL databases
• Competency in CI/CD, GitLab pipelines, and Agile/Scrum practices
• Proficiency in TDD and API documentation frameworks (OpenAPI/Swagger)
• Understanding of DevOps tools such as Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes
• Good working knowledge of Elasticsearch and real-time data solutions
• Strong communication skills in English (B2 level or higher)

• Familiarity with deploying and optimizing AI-enabled services and solutions
• Knowledge of AI Software Development Life Cycle and prompt engineering concepts
• Understanding of AI agent integration and monitoring in production environments
• Experience with advanced CI/CD customization and observability tooling
