Role description

We are seeking a Lead Python MCP Engineer to drive the development of a production-grade, cloud-native Enterprise Agent Development Platform that enables engineering teams to define, orchestrate, deploy, and observe AI agents at scale. This platform standardizes agent development across the organization using LangGraph and Strands Agents on AWS AgentCore Runtime, delivering a single-file developer experience where runtime, tooling, observability, and deployment are handled automatically. The role focuses on supporting the template library and MCP factory/delivery service as part of a broader initiative spanning agent framework design, runtime architecture, marketplace integration, CI/CD automation, and enterprise-grade observability.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain the template library and MCP factory/delivery service to support scalable agent development
  • Implement server-side MCP protocol functionality to enable consistent agent-tool communication
  • Build and optimize serverless components using AWS Lambda and API Gateway
  • Develop asynchronous Python services leveraging FastMCP, asyncio, and Pydantic
  • Integrate observability standards across the platform using OpenTelemetry for traces, metrics, and logs
  • Enforce container security baseline practices throughout the development lifecycle
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to reduce agent development timelines from months to days
  • Uphold consistent security, quality, and governance standards across the platform

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Python development
  • Experience in API and integration engineering
  • Proficiency in async Python frameworks such as FastAPI and aiohttp
  • Expertise in Python, FastMCP, asyncio, and Pydantic
  • Knowledge of AWS Lambda and API Gateway
  • Understanding of MCP protocol server-side implementation
  • Familiarity with OpenTelemetry for traces, metrics, and logs
  • Background in container security baseline practices
  • Proficiency in English at a B2+ level

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience with FastMCP library
  • Familiarity with LangGraph tool integration
  • Exposure to AWS Bedrock or AgentCore
