Role description

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer (Spring Boot, Microservices) in Singapore. You will build and support Java 21 microservices for banking platforms, shaping API design, resilience and secure coding. Join a cross-functional Agile team where quality gates and automation are part of how you ship.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build Java 21 microservices using Spring Boot
  • Deliver REST APIs and integrations with internal and external systems
  • Drive service and API design, data modeling and technical decisions
  • Implement resilience patterns, validation, security and transaction handling
  • Build persistence layers using Spring Data JPA and Hibernate
  • Create unit and integration tests and improve test coverage
  • Improve code quality using automated checks and peer reviews
  • Partner with DevOps to deploy and support services on OpenShift

Requirements

  • Java 21 expertise including recent long-term support versions (Java twenty-one on this project)
  • Spring Boot capability across the Spring Framework ecosystem
  • Microservices architecture knowledge including distributed systems fundamentals
  • REST API development experience including integration design
  • Spring Data and Spring Data JPA skill sets for persistence
  • Hibernate or equivalent Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) experience
  • SQL proficiency with a relational database such as Oracle, MySQL, MariaDB or PostgreSQL
  • Containers exposure with OpenShift or Kubernetes plus Git and build tooling (Maven or Gradle)

Nice to have

  • Spring Cloud, Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ
  • Observability tools such as OpenSearch, Elastic Stack, Grafana or AppDynamics
  • Banking or financial services domain exposure
