Automation Tester in Java

We are looking for an experienced Automation Tester in Java to join our team.

In this role, you will design, build, and maintain automated testing solutions across frontend and backend systems, ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. You will work closely with development, product, and QA teams within an agile environment, applying modern testing practices and leveraging AI-powered tools to accelerate delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement test strategies, test plans, and acceptance criteria following BDD practices
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts for frontend (web and mobile) and backend (services) using frameworks such as SerenityBDD, ScreenPlay, Gherkin-Cucumber, and Karate
• Execute functional and non-functional testing, including performance testing with tools like JMeter and K6, and interpret the results to drive quality improvements
• Manage the testing lifecycle using tools such as Jira and X-Ray
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and manage source code through Git
• Perform data validation and write SQL queries against relational databases (SQL, Oracle, DB2, PostgreSQL) to support testing efforts
• Apply quality metrics and data analytics to monitor and improve test coverage and effectiveness
• Contribute to shift-left and shift-right testing practices across the development lifecycle
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams within agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban)

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in software testing
• Solid knowledge of testing processes and types, ideally supported by ISTQB (Foundation Level / Test Automation) certification
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks, particularly SerenityBDD and Gherkin
• Experience writing automated test scripts for both frontend and backend systems
• Proficiency with Azure DevOps for continuous integration and deployment
• Experience with Git for source code management
• Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL, including PostgreSQL
• Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, K6) and result interpretation
• Strong knowledge of GenAI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Windsurf) applied to testing workflows
• Familiarity with software engineering best practices, including SOLID principles, Clean Code, refactoring, DRY, and DAMP
• Understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
• Clear communication skills in technical contexts, with the ability to actively participate in meetings and reviews and explain work to different roles
• Minimum English language level of B1

Nice to have

• Experience with Cucumber and designing test automation framework architecture
• Knowledge of security testing and tools such as OWASP ZAP, including automated security test scripting
• Experience managing automation pipelines end to end
• Knowledge of data analytics applied to quality metrics
• Familiarity with ITIL v4
• AI certification (preferably in GitHub Copilot; optionally Claude, Gemini, GPT, Grok, or similar)
