Role description

For our company site in Holon, ISTAR & EW is looking for an FPGA Engineer to join a leading team developing next-generation Electronic Warfare systems that protect forces and support critical defense missions worldwide. This is an opportunity to work on advanced FPGA-based solutions in a multidisciplinary environment, alongside hardware, software, verification, and system engineers, while contributing directly to innovative and mission-critical technologies.

In this role you will

Design, develop, and implement FPGA logic using VHDL for complex high-performance systems

Develop simulations, testbenches, and perform timing analysis to ensure robust and reliable designs

Perform synthesis, place-and-route, timing closure, and optimization using FPGA development tools

Integrate FPGA solutions into multidisciplinary hardware systems and support debugging activities

Design and implement high-speed interfaces and communication protocols including PCIe, Ethernet, AXI, SPI, I2C, UART, DDR, LVDS, and SerDes

Work closely with hardware, embedded software, verification, and systems engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle

Create and maintain technical documentation including architecture definitions, interface documents, and test reports

Drive continuous improvement by adopting advanced FPGA technologies, methodologies, and development practices

Requirements

B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field

At least 5 years of experience in FPGA design and development

Strong proficiency in VHDL and/or Verilog/SystemVerilog

Experience with FPGA development tools such as Xilinx Vivado, Vitis, ISE, Intel Quartus Prime, or Platform Designer

Hands-on experience with modern FPGA families including Xilinx UltraScale, Zynq, Kintex, Virtex or Intel Stratix, Arria, Cyclone

Experience with simulation and verification tools such as ModelSim or Questa

Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Tcl, or Bash - Advantage

Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, teamwork, and ability to work in a dynamic multidisciplinary environment
