Role description

We are looking for a Lead Database Engineer to drive reliability, speed, and security for mission-critical databases across AWS and GCP environments. Apply now to help keep our database estate resilient and performant.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and upgrade MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and CockroachDB databases
  • Monitor, tune, and optimize database performance
  • Own backups, recovery, and disaster recovery plans
  • Implement and maintain database security and user access
  • Establish replication, clustering, and high-availability solutions
  • Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting and supporting tools
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues
  • Document configurations and operating procedures
  • Collaborate with DevOps and development teams

Requirements

  • Proven track record with 5+ years of advanced database administration across MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
  • Deep expertise in CockroachDB administration plus proficiency in Shell and Python scripting for automation
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI, along with IaC tools including Terraform and Ansible
  • Working knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK
  • Solid background with cloud database services such as AWS RDS and GCP
  • Strong understanding of database security, replication, and high availability
  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher
