Responsibilities

  • Architect robust, standardized integration layers that align automation systems with LIMS workflows
  • Implement fault-tolerant patterns, state management and recovery mechanisms for device and network failures
  • Deliver comprehensive monitoring, logging and device telemetry to ensure system reliability
  • Design, model and govern a scalable, decoupled business rules engine
  • Maintain rule versioning, traceability and safe deployment without disrupting operations
  • Build scalable, modular systems with independent frontend and backend evolution
  • Apply caching, async processing and secure-by-design practices across the architecture
  • Define and document contract-first APIs, including versioning and secure interfaces
  • Guarantee full auditability and end-to-end traceability of experimental data flows
  • Coach engineers through code reviews, pair programming and architecture walkthroughs
  • Foster autonomy, knowledge sharing and full-stack system thinking across teams
  • Drive features end-to-end, prioritize tasks and consistently meet deadlines

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in solution architecture, with background in lab automation environments including LIMS and device integration and Business Process Automation using rules engines
  • Proficiency in Go (Golang), Ruby and Elixir
  • Advanced knowledge of Ruby on Rails and Phoenix Framework
  • Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle), NoSQL and key-value stores
  • Expertise in REST, GraphQL and gRPC APIs
  • Skills in AWS services including Elastic Container Service (ECS), Simple Storage Service (S3) and Application Load Balancer (ALB)
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), Docker containerization and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins)
  • Advanced competency in Git, code review best practices and branching/merging strategies
  • Understanding of unit testing, integration testing and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and continuous learning adaptability
  • Proven experience in ITIL-managed organizations, with strong problem-solving skills and excellent cross-functional communication
