Role description

FUSE is building the next generation of autonomous defense technology: intelligent robotic systems and multi-domain platforms that redefine how forces operate, sense, decide, and act. Our systems work alongside human operators for surveillance, strike, and mission support

At FUSE, we bring together industry pioneers into one agile organization under Elbit Systems, combining the speed, sense of ownership, and innovation culture of a startup with the manufacturing power and operational strength of a global defense leader. Our teams own the full stack end-to-end, from mechanical design, hardware, and embedded systems to robotics, autonomy, AI, and real-time multi-platform decision-making

Here, technology goes from concept to operational deployment. Fast. Your work doesn't sit in a backlog. It takes off

We are looking for

We're looking for a Senior System Engineer to own payload integration for autonomous platforms. You'll architect communication interfaces between EO/IR sensors, laser rangefinders, and flight systems. Your work directly enables precision targeting and real-time intelligence for MUM-T operations

In this role you will

Define system architecture for payload integration on autonomous platforms

Design and validate communication interfaces between EO/IR sensors, LRF lasers, and mission computers

Own requirements flow-down from platform level to payload subsystems

Lead technical reviews and interface control document development

Troubleshoot system-level issues across hardware, firmware, and software boundaries

Collaborate with hardware, software, and flight test teams to validate end-to-end performance

Support flight tests and analyze system performance data

Drive trade studies for payload capabilities and mission configurations

Requirements

B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field

5+ years in system engineering for defense or aerospace systems

Hands-on experience with electro-optical and infrared sensors

Strong understanding of communication protocols and interface design

Proven ability to work across multidisciplinary engineering teams

Experience with requirements management and verification processes

Experience with laser systems or rangefinders - advantage

Background in UAV or robotic platforms - advantage

Familiarity with MIL-STD-1553, ARINC, or similar avionics protocols - advantage

This is your chance to be a part of a new and exciting opportunity, work on complex, high-stakes systems, push the boundaries of autonomy and robotics, and build technology that makes an instant impact

If you're looking to move fast, think big, and shape what comes next, we want you with us

Only relevant applications will be answered**
