Role description

EPAM is seeking an Envisioner to join our growing practice. Envisioning is the conceptualization of the ideal future experience - representing what doesn't yet exist in a way that teammates, clients, and potential users can interact with and react to. In this client-facing, creativity-forward role, you will use visual tools to explain complex ideas, participate in research, and act as a creative lead to design new experiences that truly connect with people. You will collaborate across a multidisciplinary team - including experience designers, business strategists, engineers, and data scientists - to develop solutions that are consumer-driven, financially viable, and technically feasible.

We are looking for someone who moves fluidly between research and visual storytelling - someone who can distill a complex strategy into its most compelling, tangible form and bring it to life through sketches, storyboards, prototypes, and more. A portfolio demonstrating your work is required.

Req.#1055241890

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team through all phases of project work - from client alignment and context-setting through insight development, opportunity exploration, and go-to-market support
  • Listen with curiosity and an open mind; develop a deep understanding of what truly matters to consumers and clients, setting personal preferences aside to create for the target audience
  • Surface and generate ideas when faced with a problem - seeing a breadth of possibilities, practicing structured ideation, extracting ideas from others, and live scribing to capture conversations as they happen
  • Communicate the team's vision by distilling experiences to their fundamental form and selecting the right medium - sketches, storyboards, prototypes, video, journey maps - to convey ideas clearly and without distraction
  • Translate abstract strategies into tangible, holistic experiences and actionable tools that enable consumers to interact with and respond to a new business strategy or opportunity
  • Establish a foundation for design by articulating criteria and guidelines that ensure the future integrity of the experience, and support developers and designers in maintaining that intent through execution
  • Work cross-functionally within a multidisciplinary team, balancing independent ownership of creative workstreams with close collaboration across strategy, engineering, data, and business disciplines
  • Actively engage with and apply AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance visualization, ideation, and concept development processes

Requirements

  • Degree in Design, Art, Communications, or another creative field
  • Excellent visualization skills, including drawing, Adobe Suite proficiency, and working knowledge of Figma
  • Demonstrated experience with consumer/user research, ideation, brainstorming techniques, sketching, prototyping, and concept visualization
  • Strong client-facing communication, presentation, and storytelling skills; comfortable presenting to and facilitating workshops with senior stakeholders
  • Ability to work quickly and visualize ideas at varying levels of fidelity across all stages of a project
  • Openness and enthusiasm toward AI tools and experimentation; prior experience using AI in a creative, research, or strategy context is a plus
  • Willingness to travel approximately once per month, primarily domestic US (occasional international travel may be required)
  • Portfolio required - must include examples of storyboarding, journey mapping, and concept visualization
