Role description

We are seeking a Business Analyst (Trading) in Hong Kong. You will work with business users, vendors and technology teams to improve a vendor-driven trading platform. You will turn regulatory and operational needs into clear requirements, support change delivery and help drive incident triage, testing and release readiness in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and clarify business requirements for vendor trading platform changes and enhancements
  • Convert needs into user stories, functional specifications and acceptance criteria
  • Coordinate with vendors on releases, defects, impact assessment and change communications
  • Support incident triage by analyzing symptoms, documenting findings and driving next steps with SMEs
  • Support regulatory and reporting initiatives by defining requirements and validating outcomes
  • Maintain documentation including process flows, data mappings and operational runbooks
  • Partner with developers and test teams to support test planning, defect triage and release sign-off
  • Contribute to Agile delivery ceremonies across Scrum or Kanban teams

Requirements

  • Proven experience in IT business analysis within technology delivery or platform change
  • Ability to elicit requirements and write clear user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Experience working with vendor-led solutions and multi-stakeholder coordination
  • Knowledge of Agile methods including Scrum or Kanban
  • Understanding of incident triage and change management for production systems
  • Familiarity with capital markets or investment banking processes, ideally trading-related
  • Ability to document processes and data flows with attention to detail
  • Clear communication with business stakeholders and technical teams

Nice to have

  • Exposure to electronic trading, market access or smart order routing concepts
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting or trade reporting change initiatives
  • Comfort working with SQL (Structured Query Language) or Python or UNIX or shell scripting
