Role description

We are building a unified data strategy and enterprise data layer and need a Data Architect to lead architecture and governance on AWS. You will define blueprints, guide workstreams with the client and AWS, and ensure solutions follow AWS cloud-native best practices and the Well-Architected Framework - apply now.

Responsibilities

  • Design scalable data models for ad delivery, audience segmentation, campaign reporting, and billing that fit the client's current systems and enable migration to the future-state architecture
  • Architect data solutions using AWS services that comply with the program's approved tech stack
  • Define data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration patterns for batch and real-time streams (e.g. ad impressions, click events, audience signals)
  • Establish data governance standards, including lineage, cataloging, access controls, and compliance with the client's privacy and security requirements (per the Technical Security Plan)
  • Build integration points between the client's legacy systems and the new microservices-based platform, ensuring data flows are clearly defined and documented
  • Maintain data architecture artifacts such as ERDs, data flow diagrams, schema definitions, and data dictionaries
  • Partner with the client and AWS as an SME, driving data strategy and alignment across workstreams

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in data strategy and data governance (8+ years)
  • Hands-on background in data modeling and ETL / data integration (6+ years)
  • Proven track record creating architecture blueprints (2+ years dedicated)
  • Practical proficiency with Apache Iceberg
  • Working knowledge of Amazon SageMaker Unified Studio
  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher

Nice to have

  • Experience in the ad tech / media domain
  • Knowledge of microservices integration patterns
  • Familiarity with data cataloging and lineage tools
