Role description

We're searching for an exceptional Lead JavaScript Full-Stack Developer with deep expertise and passion for engineering rich, responsive web and hybrid-mobile applications at scale. In this role, you'll leverage your mastery of JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Next.js to define technical vision, lead engineering teams, and deliver fast, SEO-friendly, and mobile-first user interfaces that set the standard across the organization.

You'll head the design of outstanding web experiences that look and feel like native mobile apps, owning performance optimization strategies for both desktop and mobile web view browsers (including iOS Safari). Partnering closely with backend engineers, UX designers, product owners, and executive stakeholders, you'll translate complex interactive designs into elegant, modular, and reusable front-end architectures - while building and growing high-performing engineering teams and championing best practices across the entire organization.

Responsibilities

  • Define the architectural vision and lead the delivery of high-performance, scalable, and responsive web applications using React and Next.js (leveraging advanced features such as SSR, SSG, ISR, API routes, and Server Components)
  • Drive the implementation of pixel-perfect, mobile-first designs that adapt seamlessly across devices, with a specific focus on optimizing layouts, animations, and touch interactions for mobile viewports (including iOS/Android browsers)
  • Establish organization-wide strategies for managing complex client-side state (e.g., Redux, Zustand, Context API) and lead the design of robust integrations with backend RESTful or GraphQL APIs
  • Own and lead performance engineering initiatives across the front-end organization - profiling and optimizing applications for maximum loading speed, Core Web Vitals, and smooth rendering on lower-powered mobile devices
  • Set engineering standards for clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested JavaScript/TypeScript, oversee code review processes, define coding guidelines, and lead the strategic evolution of our shared UI component library
  • Build, mentor, and grow a team of senior, mid-level, and junior developers, actively sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement
  • Partner with product and design leadership to define the technical roadmap, own architectural decisions, and align engineering strategy with business objectives
  • Represent the front-end engineering function in cross-departmental initiatives and contribute to hiring, performance management, and team development

Requirements

  • 5+ years of proven background in modern web development, including 1+ years in a technical leadership or lead engineer role, with a strong track record of delivering complex, user-facing products to production
  • Expert-level mastery of JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, and React, including advanced patterns, performance tuning, and architectural best practices at scale
  • Deep, production-grade expertise in the Next.js framework (App Router and Pages Router, Server Components, advanced rendering strategies), with experience defining framework-level standards across teams
  • Strong command of modern CSS frameworks and methodologies (e.g., Tailwind CSS, styled-components, CSS Modules), with proven ability to define and enforce styling architecture for large-scale, multi-team projects
  • Extensive expertise in optimizing web apps for mobile browsers, architecting PWAs (Progressive Web Apps), and integrating web views within hybrid mobile containers
  • Proven background in designing, launching, and evolving reusable component libraries and design systems adopted across multiple product teams
  • Deep familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and defining engineering processes within Agile/Scrum environments
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams, mentoring senior and mid-level developers, and driving strategic technical initiatives across cross-functional organizations
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills and the ability to influence technical direction at both team and organizational levels
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English (B2+ level)
