Role description

We are seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer . You will design and build in-house and Software as a Service integrations that support business teams, owning delivery from early analysis through production deployment and support.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build secure, high-performing and cost-aware Java services and integrations
  • Translate business needs into technical approaches, estimates and delivery plans
  • Define technical specifications and guide junior engineers and external developers
  • Deliver features end to end, from implementation through deployment and production support
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to shape scope, priorities and technical feasibility
  • Improve maintainability through testing, monitoring and automation
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation for development and operations
  • Communicate progress, risks and trade-offs with the project team

Requirements

  • Java proficiency with proven experience delivering production-grade back-end systems
  • SQL proficiency with hands-on experience working with relational databases
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) knowledge with hands-on experience designing or operating cloud infrastructure
  • Financial services domain exposure or confidence working in regulated environments
  • Problem-solving mindset with demonstrated ability to turn ambiguity into clear technical solutions
  • Stakeholder partnership experience working with business users and engineering teams
  • Ownership and prioritization skills with confidence in managing competing demands
  • Clear communication in written and spoken form

Nice to have

  • AWS Glue or Amazon Managed Workflows for Apache Airflow or Control-M exposure
  • Microservices architecture, serverless architecture or Representational State Transfer (REST) APIs experience
  • Messaging or streaming experience with Kafka or Amazon Kinesis
