Role description

We are seeking an Integration Engineer (Java APIs) . You build and support REST integrations that connect enterprise platforms across a major Australia and New Zealand technology portfolio. You will ship new features, keep services stable in production, and grow into AI-enabled delivery using tools like GitHub Copilot and client AI accelerators.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Java-based API and integration components in enterprise environments
  • Build and maintain REST integrations across internal systems, platforms and third-party applications
  • Troubleshoot integration flows and resolve production incidents with clear root cause analysis
  • Collaborate with product, engineering and managed services teams to align requirements and dependencies
  • Document integration designs, operational procedures and support runbooks
  • Improve reliability through monitoring, defect prevention and continuous improvement
  • Contribute to agile delivery using Scrum or Kanban practices
  • Participate in shift-based support coverage as needed to meet operational requirements

Requirements

  • Java proficiency applied to API development or system integration
  • REST API integration skills including build, support and troubleshooting
  • Integration patterns knowledge for middleware or platform integration
  • Problem-solving ability to diagnose API failures and connectivity issues
  • Clear communication when coordinating requirements, handoffs and incident actions across teams
  • Production support mindset with confidence working in KTLO-style environments

Nice to have

  • MuleSoft or Boomi exposure
  • Experience with API management platforms
  • Familiarity using GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted development tools
