Role description
We are seeking a Python Developer (Apache Airflow, ETL) . You will build and support data pipelines for a long-term engineering transformation program covering Australia and New Zealand. You will improve reliability in production, partner with balanced delivery teams and progressively adopt an AI-enabled SDLC using tools like GitHub Copilot.
Responsibilities
- Build and enhance Python-based ETL workflows for data processing and delivery
- Orchestrate and monitor pipelines using Apache Airflow to improve reliability and visibility
- Investigate issues, restore service during incidents and complete root-cause follow-ups
- Deliver KTLO support, maintenance and continuous improvements across multiple applications
- Collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders to clarify priorities and dependencies
- Apply problem-solving to assess change impacts, risks and operational tradeoffs
- Contribute to modern agile delivery within balanced cross-functional teams
- Participate in shift-based support coverage as needed to meet operational requirements
Requirements
- Python proficiency with hands-on delivery of production-grade services or pipelines
- Apache Airflow capability for orchestration, scheduling, monitoring and support
- ETL/ELT workflow experience including troubleshooting, reruns, backfills and performance tuning
- Managed services or production support exposure including incident response and service improvement
- Clear communication for working with stakeholders and distributed teams
- Adaptability to context switch across applications and competing operational priorities
Nice to have
- Java exposure as a secondary skill
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot
- Experience working with Scrum or Kanban delivery practices
