Role description
We're looking to add an Accounting Manager to our growing organization. In this capacity, the individual will serve as Accounting & Tax Manager for the Brazil region, acting as the go-to expert for financial reporting, tax obligations, statutory documentation, audit coordination, tax reform preparedness, and local controllership functions. This position requires a blend of big-picture direction and day-to-day execution, working in tandem with external partners, auditors, tax specialists, Global SSC groups, and top finance executives.
Responsibilities
- Safeguard the soundness of accounting systems and internal control protocols in accordance with BR GAAP/CPC, US GAAP, and internal company guidelines
- Manage the monthly closing process, account reconciliation efforts, journal entry postings, and balance sheet reviews
- Offer assistance during statutory and tax-related audit engagements, along with SOX compliance activities
- Drive alignment between SSC staff, outside accounting and tax partners, auditors, and consulting professionals
- Take charge of ensuring Brazil's tax obligations are met, including IRPJ, CSLL, ISS, PIS, and COFINS
- Get the organization ready to adapt to incoming Brazilian tax reform changes, particularly those involving CBS/IBS
- Contribute to reconciling statutory data against US GAAP standards, managing related reports, pursuing process improvements, and aiding integration projects
Requirements
- An earned Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or a directly related area of study
- At least five years of hands-on, relevant work experience in the accounting field
- A minimum of two years holding a Senior, Lead, Manager, or Owner-level role
- Verified experience successfully managing teams consisting of five or more full-time employees
- Active CRC registration is a non-negotiable requirement
- Previous involvement in accounting, controllership, and/or tax functions specifically within Brazil
- Deep understanding of BR GAAP/CPC guidelines combined with familiarity with US GAAP and/or IFRS standards
- Practical, hands-on background working within the SAP system
- Strong English fluency at a B2 level or higher
