Role description
Our growing company is on the lookout for an Accounting Manager to become part of our team. This individual will step into the Accounting & Tax Manager role covering Brazil, serving as the primary knowledge resource for financial reporting, tax duties, statutory submissions, audit oversight, tax reform groundwork, and local controllership responsibilities. The position demands a mix of high-level strategic input and hands-on daily work, requiring tight coordination with outside vendors, auditors, tax experts, Global SSC groups, and senior financial decision-makers.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the dependability of accounting structures and internal control frameworks in alignment with BR GAAP/CPC, US GAAP, and set organizational policies
- Lead the monthly close activities, encompassing reconciliations, recording of journal entries, and balance sheet reviews
- Provide assistance across statutory audits, tax audits, and matters tied to SOX compliance
- Encourage productive teamwork among SSC staff, outsourced accounting and tax vendors, auditors, and outside advisors
- Carry responsibility for fulfilling Brazil's tax-related requirements, including IRPJ, CSLL, ISS, PIS, and COFINS
- Equip the company to respond to upcoming changes in Brazil's tax framework, with particular attention to CBS/IBS
- Help reconcile statutory financial information with US GAAP expectations, manage corresponding reports, push forward process enhancements, and assist with integration tasks
Requirements
- A completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or a closely aligned field
- At minimum, five years of hands-on, pertinent experience in accounting work
- A minimum of two years spent in a Senior, Lead, Manager, or Owner-level capacity
- Demonstrated ability to successfully oversee teams of five or more full-time employees
- An active, valid CRC registration is an absolute requirement
- Background working in accounting, controllership, and/or tax capacities within Brazil
- Comprehensive grasp of BR GAAP/CPC regulations paired with familiarity in US GAAP and/or IFRS frameworks
- Genuine, practical experience working hands-on with SAP
- Strong English communication skills at B2 level or above
