Role description
About the role
In this role you will design and optimize C++ services at the heart of a distributed cybersecurity platform, tackling performance, scalability, and reliability challenges that directly impact threat detection. Our Client is a global technology leader in networking, cybersecurity, and cloud solutions, protecting digital infrastructure for organizations worldwide. You'll work on core services that process security events, correlate threat data, and deliver telemetry across hybrid on-prem and cloud environments.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-performance C++ services for processing, transforming, and streaming security, intrusion, connection, and file-related events.
- Design and improve event-processing pipelines supporting multiple security platform components.
- Work on data correlation and rule-matching engines that analyze detection findings and identify potential threats.
- Implement logic for evaluating security rules and triggering remediation actions or system notifications.
- Develop and maintain integrations with telemetry and messaging systems, including syslog, server-sent events, and message queues.
- Investigate and resolve complex production issues related to performance, reliability, and data consistency.
- Contribute to architecture discussions, code reviews, automated testing, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency with modern C++ and 2+ years of commercial development experience
- Solid knowledge of object-oriented design principles, data structures, and algorithms for high-performance applications
- Strong knowledge of multithreading concepts, concurrency control, and synchronization mechanisms
- Practical experience with developing applications and services for Linux-based environments
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, distributed systems, and inter-process communication (IPC) mechanisms
- Practical experience with event-driven architectures, message brokers, or streaming data pipelines
- Familiarity with unit testing frameworks, debugging techniques, profiling tools, and performance optimization strategies
- Analytical and solution-oriented mindset with the ability to independently investigate and resolve complex technical problems
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within an agile, cross-functional team
- Upper-intermediate English level
- Familiarity with additional distributed systems tools or frameworks (nice-to-have)
