We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Practical Engineer to join our Product Engineering Team . In this role, you will take an active part in the practical assembly, integration, and validation of test stations for both board-level and system-level testing. You will be responsible for creating mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, and releasing bills of materials , while supporting other development tasks. Your work will focus on functional simplicity, reliability, and repeatability , ensuring that test stations are ergonomic and user-friendly for technicians. You will collaborate closely with other mechanical engineers, as well as cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, NPI, purchasing, and other disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Perform practical assembly, integration, and validation of mechanical test stations in production and development environments.
- Create detailed mechanical drawings and assembly drawings for test station components and assemblies.
- Release and maintain bills of materials (BOMs) for test stations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure reliable and repeatable test station performance to maintain consistent test results.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers, software engineers, and electrical engineers to ensure smooth integration of test setups.
- Work closely with NPI, purchasing, and other departments to support development and manufacturing initiatives.
- Support troubleshooting and validation of test stations in production environments.
- Document design specifications, assembly instructions, and maintenance procedures.
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical design and development of test fixtures, test stations, or similar electromechanical systems.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD design software.
- Strong understanding of mechanical components, materials, manufacturing processes, and design for assembly.
- Proven experience with designing for reliability, repeatability, ease of maintenance, and manufacturability.
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, electrical engineers, manufacturing/NPI, and purchasing.
- Experience creating and releasing engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
- Strong practical hands-on skills with assembly, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
