About Smart Infrastructure - Electrification and Automation
The Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing into our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power distribution grid of the future. Our comprehensive portfolio meets the growing technical requirements of today's and tomorrow's power grid!
The EA Business Unit in Wendell, North Carolina, which is its U.S. headquarters, focuses on photovoltaic inverters, medium-voltage power distribution equipment including packaging and services, and solutions, including automation. Additionally, assembly of low-voltage motor control centers, and retrofit and replacement circuit breakers occurs at the facility.
We are looking for a Production Supervisor, 1st Shift. This position will be based in Wendell, NC. Relocation assistance may be available.
This role is critical to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production while fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production operations, including workforce management, process optimization, quality assurance, and cross-functional collaboration. You will play a key role in driving operational excellence, meeting production targets, and supporting strategic initiatives that align with our long-term business goals.
You'll make an impact by
- Leading daily first-shift production activities to achieve safety, quality, cost, delivery (SQCD) targets.
- Supervising, developing, and deploying production associates, including work assignments, staffing movements, engagement, accountability, and time-and-attendance oversight.
- Applying 6S and Lean Manufacturing practices to identify bottlenecks, reduce waste and downtime, improve cycle times, and optimize labor and equipment utilization.
- Partnering with Engineering, Quality, Logistics, and Planning to resolve production issues, implementing process improvements, and supporting new-product introductions and engineering changes.
- Monitoring production KPIs through tier meetings, analyzing trends, implementing corrective actions, and maintaining accurate production, labor, and material records in SAP
- Ensuring compliance with safety, quality, audit, and company requirements while supporting production workflows and cross-functional customer needs.
You'll win us over by having the following qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a production setting
- Working knowledge of SAP in a manufacturing context.
- Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing, process improvement, and 5S implementation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in switchboard or electrical equipment assembly and manufacturing.
- Technical training or certifications in manufacturing, operations, or lean methodologies.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing environment.
- Six Sigma Green Belt/Lean Certification.

The pay range for this position is $61,547 - $105,509 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
