This position combines hands-on robotics expertise with technical leadership and strategic decision-making.

The Industrial Robotics & Automation (IRaA) subdivision within the SoftServe Robotics Group specializes in developing and integrating advanced robotic systems for various industrial applications.

Responsibilities

  • Define architecture for industrial robotics and automation solutions, including robotic arms, humanoid robots, legged robots, mobile platforms, end-effectors, and integrated robotic cells
  • Translate customer needs, business goals, and technical constraints into robust, scalable, and maintainable robotics system architectures
  • Drive architectural decisions related to motion planning, control, perception, simulation, hardware integration, deployment, and system reliability
  • Establish best practices for robotics software development, testing, simulation, CI/CD, observability, and performance optimization
  • Mentor senior and middle engineers, support technical growth within the team, and contribute to building IRaA engineering expertise
  • Conduct regular research on the latest trends, technologies, and standards in industrial robotics, automation, simulation, and AI-enabled robotics
  • Contribute to pre-sales activities, technical proposals, solution estimations, and customer-facing architecture discussions

Requirements

  • BS/MS/Ph.D. in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Control Systems, or a related field
  • Experience in designing complex robotics software architectures for industrial or advanced automation systems
  • Strong experience in robotics fundamentals, including motion planning, trajectory optimization, kinematics, dynamics, control, perception, and system-level integration
  • Proficiency in making high-level architectural decisions across software, hardware interfaces, control systems, middleware, simulation environments, and deployment pipelines
  • Experience with robotic arms, mobile robots, humanoid robots, legged robots, end-effectors, sensors, actuators, and industrial automation equipment
  • Proficiency in C++, Python, Linux, and modern software engineering practices
  • Experience with ROS/ROS2, MoveIt2, and simulation-driven development; NVIDIA Isaac Sim experience is a strong advantage
  • Strong experience in engineering tools such as Git, CMake, Make, GDB, CI/CD, testing frameworks, profiling tools, and code quality practices
  • Skilled in software architecture principles, modular system design, distributed systems, real-time or near-real-time systems, and performance optimization
