Role description
ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will define and shape internal data platform capabilities that help teams create, discover, govern, and use trusted data at scale. Partnering with data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders, you will turn technical investments into measurable outcomes for a growing Corporate Data organization. Your work shapes how reliably and quickly data teams deliver value across the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define the platform product strategy, vision, and roadmap for shared data capabilities, aligned with business priorities and success measures
- Lead discovery and requirements-gathering, translating recurring user problems into clear PRDs, technical user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Partner closely with data engineers, architects, and data product teams to shape ingestion, transformation, orchestration, storage, and governance capabilities
- Manage the platform backlog and roadmap, balancing enablement, reliability, security, cost optimization, and new capability requests
- Establish reusable platform standards and guardrails, including data contracts, ownership expectations, and lifecycle policies
- Define service expectations and reliability targets, including SLIs/SLOs, observability needs, and incident-learning practices
- Track adoption and platform value, measuring usage, onboarding time, delivery lead time, and reduction of duplicated engineering effort
- Communicate platform direction and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders, keeping teams aligned on milestones, dependencies, and risks
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience in business analysis, product ownership, or product management within data platforms, developer platforms, or other technically complex internal products
- Strong understanding of modern data platform concepts, including ingestion, transformation, orchestration, warehousing, metadata, governance, and data quality
- Practical experience writing PRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and non-functional requirements that engineering teams can execute against
- Solid backlog management, prioritization, roadmap planning, and Agile delivery skills
- Experience partnering with data engineers, architects, security, and technical program teams to validate and shape platform capabilities
- Working knowledge of SQL and cloud data warehouses is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, translating technical concepts and trade-offs into clear outcomes for varied audiences
- Strong attention to detail and sound judgment when managing competing priorities across multiple platform consumers
- Working proficiency in English, sufficient to lead discussions and produce clear documentation in a multicultural environment
