About the role

Join SoftServe as a Data QC Engineer to support quality assurance activities across data migration, integration and transformation projects. You will work with cross-functional teams to validate data solutions built on modern cloud platforms and data tools, ensuring data accuracy, integrity and reliable, production-ready delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform data migration testing, including source-to-target reconciliation and ETL/ELT validation
  • Validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across different stages of data processing
  • Develop, execute, and maintain manual test cases (and automated where applicable) using Python and QMetry or similar test management tools
  • Validate data transformations across layered data architectures (e.g., Bronze, Silver, Gold / Medallion Architecture)
  • Test data pipelines and workflows across cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), Databricks, and Snowflake
  • Monitor and validate data quality using tools such as Monte Carlo
  • Identify, investigate, and document data quality issues, collaborating closely with data engineers to resolve them
  • Prepare and maintain test documentation, execution results, and defect reports
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality data delivery

REQUIREMENTS

  • 4+ years of experience in software testing, preferably in data engineering, ETL, or data migration projects
  • Strong experience with SQL, data validation, and source-to-target reconciliation
  • Hands-on experience testing data pipelines and transformations across cloud environments
  • Experience with Python for test automation
  • Familiarity with QMetry or similar test management tools
  • Understanding of Databricks, Snowflake, and layered data architectures (Bronze, Silver, Gold)
  • Familiarity with data observability/quality monitoring tools (e.g., Monte Carlo) is a plus
  • Experience validating Power BI or other BI reporting solutions
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in Agile, cross-functional teams
  • Upper-Intermediate or higher level of English
