Must Have

  • 5+ years as a DevOps Engineer in a production Linux environment.
  • Hands-on containers and Kubernetes with real, in-depth experience.
  • Good understanding of distributed and data systems; experience with large-scale, heavy data loads.
  • Good Python scripting experience.
  • Hands-on with at least one cloud platform, AWS strongly preferred.
  • Version control and CI/CD tooling (e.g., GitLab or GitHub).
  • Production experience specifically, not only test/staging environments.
  • Strong English communication, team player, independent.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to data warehouses/lakes and processing frameworks (Hadoop, Spark, Flink, Trino).
  • GitOps tooling (ArgoCD / Flux).
  • Administering at least one NoSQL database (Redis, Elasticsearch, or MongoDB).
  • Background as a data engineer or software engineer with an infrastructure slant.
  • Ability to build tools for the engineering team, coming from a development background.

Scope of work

  • Building, operating, and scaling containerized data infrastructure on Kubernetes and/or Linux, including engines like Spark, across batch and streaming workloads.
  • Writing automation and tooling in Python.
  • Improving reliability, observability, and performance across distributed systems.
  • Working on production systems supporting heavy data loads, in close collaboration with the data engineering teams.
