About the Role
In this role, you'll build the backend services that keep critical infrastructure data moving accurately and reliably. Working across Python and .NET, you'll design and deliver data processing systems for energy sector clients, partnering closely with architects and engineers to turn complex requirements into dependable, production-ready solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop backend applications using Python (FastAPI) and .NET (ASP.NET Core) that power data processing pipelines for energy infrastructure clients
- Improve system performance and reliability by optimizing event-driven architectures built on Kafka and containerized deployments managed with Helm Charts
- Collaborate closely with architects, QA engineers, and client stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust, production-ready solutions
- Build and maintain .NET services using EF Core, async programming, and REST APIs, ensuring code quality, maintainability, and adherence to client IT standards
- Apply test-driven development practices to deliver reliable, well-tested code across both Python and .NET codebases
- Take part in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, to plan and deliver work iteratively
- Contribute to code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD practices to maintain high delivery quality
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across distributed systems, minimizing disruption to services that handle critical data
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of experience delivering IT solutions aligned with client IT strategy and standards
- Hands-on experience with Python, FastAPI, Kafka, and Helm Charts
- Practical experience with .NET 8+, EF Core, TDD, async programming, REST APIs, and authentication/authorization
- Working knowledge of Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in distributed, data-intensive systems
- Clear communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional and client teams
- Experience with Kubernetes, Argo CD, Protobuf, Pydantic, or Grafana
- Background in electrical engineering, or experience with transmission system operators or comparable energy infrastructure companies
- Familiarity with SCADA, PMU, PQ, protection, or fault record data
- Experience working in critical infrastructure environments
- Strong communication skills
