Role description

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior Java Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Ukraine. Our client is a leading last-mile carrier in the e-commerce sector. In this role, you will assist and participate in the development and improvement of software platforms. You will work within a software development squad and with stakeholders, contributing to enhancing system functionality and efficiency.   • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of software development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Java and system design.
  • Experience with Groovy.
  • Proficiency in Hibernate.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work across multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience with geocoding providers such as Google Maps, Bing Maps, or OpenStreetMap is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud services such as Azure and AWS.
  • Write high-quality Java code and resolve technical issues.
  • Thoroughly test developed solutions using unit, integration, load, and end-to-end testing.
  • Develop innovative, scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant software solutions.
  • Contribute to software design and ensure alignment with long-term technical goals.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.
  • Guide the team in technical decision-making and stay up to date with relevant technologies and best practices.
  • Ensure software quality and adherence to established standards.
  • Participate in project planning, track progress, and help manage technical risks.
  • Facilitate team communication and help bridge technical and organizational gaps.
  • Perform other duties related to system integration and software development as assigned.
