Role description
We're looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer to take ownership of the iOS side of a Kotlin Multiplatform product. You'll work primarily with Swift and Kotlin, contributing to shared business logic and platform-specific components. The product is built for functional fitness and CrossFit and includes hardware-adjacent functionality such as concurrent BLE sessions, firmware updates, high-frequency sensor data capture, reliable upload to the cloud, and Apple Watch integration. This is a mobile-focused role for an engineer who is comfortable working beyond the UI layer and taking ownership of technical decisions and product quality.
- Own the iOS app: architecture, Swift/KMP interoperability, quality, and releases;
- Contribute to Kotlin Multiplatform shared modules covering device, workout, networking, and storage;
- Build and maintain BLE, firmware update, and Apple Watch integrations;
- Handle high-frequency sensor data end to end: capture, persistence, and cloud upload;
- Work on LLM-backed product surfaces in the client;
- Collaborate with Android/KMP and backend teams on contracts and cross-platform changes;
- Pick up backend work when it unblocks the product, including BFF routes, internal APIs, and the contracts the apps depend on;
- Raise the bar on code reviews, architecture, and technical decisions.
- Senior-level production iOS with 5+ years of experience in Swift, including apps that go beyond being a UI layer over a REST API;
- Real Kotlin Multiplatform experience, or strong enough Kotlin and native interop skills to become productive in a multi-module KMP codebase quickly (expect/actual, shared managers, XCFramework, Swift consumption);
- Comfortable with concurrency, including Swift concurrency and Kotlin coroutines, particularly in device and networking code;
- Experience with at least one of the following: CoreBluetooth/BLE, watchOS or companion apps, firmware/OTA, or high-throughput local data pipelines;
- Uses AI tools in daily work, with good judgment about when they help and when they do not;
- Takes ownership of quality, including reviews, architecture, and how the work gets done;
- Clear written and spoken English (B2+);
- Working hours: 15:00 - 23:00 (Kyiv time) - preferred working hours, but the schedule can be adapted.
