ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will join a network automation team designing, configuring, and validating SD-WAN and service-provider routing solutions for enterprise and telecom clients. You will combine deep Cisco IOS and multi-vendor routing expertise with Python-based network automation, Cisco NSO/YANG service orchestration, and test-case automation to deliver reliable, well-documented network configurations across physical and virtual (ESXi) environments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot SD-WAN networks, including interoperability with legacy routing protocols (OSPF, BGP)
- Validate service-provider routing and network scenarios spanning IP/MPLS, BNG, and L3VPN
- Support network automation and service orchestration using Cisco NSO and YANG data models
- Write Python scripts to automate configuration, testing, and complex operational processes, increasing engineering efficiency
- Build and run test-case automation, including manual test definition and traffic stream configuration/automation on Spirent TestCenter and Spirent Cyberflood
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues across Python code, network configuration, and physical/virtual (ESXi) environments
- Analyze, verify, and optimize client requirements to improve solution quality and performance
- Apply SDN/virtualization technologies (e.g., Nuage) to telco cloud and infrastructure-as-code initiatives
- Use Git for version control and collaborate cross-functionally (e.g., via Jira) throughout delivery
REQUIREMENTS
- Senior-level network engineering background with strong Cisco IOS and multi-vendor routing/switching expertise
- Hands-on experience configuring, optimizing, and troubleshooting SD-WAN networks
- Service-provider routing depth: MPLS, BGP, OSPF, L3VPN, BNG - telecom/ISP environment experience valued
- Proficiency in Python for network automation and test-case automation
- Experience with Git version control
- Experience troubleshooting network, code, and virtualization (ESXi) issues
- Strong client-facing skills: ability to analyze, verify, and optimize technical requirements
