Role description

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior Python Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Europe. Our client is a European cybersecurity SaaS company whose mission is to develop the best protection capabilities against cyberattacks. The company, created in France, provides modern, field-proven technologies to enable operational cybersecurity teams and service providers to neutralize cyber threats before impact. The company's founders have been recognized security professionals for over 15 years. Today, the client collaborators follow their vision and strategy and contribute to defensive cybersecurity in France and Europe.

You will join a team focused on expanding and improving the platform's integration catalog. The role primarily involves developing and maintaining cloud-to-cloud data collectors and parsers, integrating third-party services, and ensuring that collected data is reliably transformed into the client's data model. The position is hands-on and focused on delivering resilient, maintainable, and well-tested integrations rather than complex architecture or design patterns.

  • 5+ years of professional experience with Python.
  • Solid understanding of REST API development and hands-on experience working with JSON and XML.
  • Commercial experience integrating third-party services and APIs.
  • Ability to develop reliable and maintainable Python scripts for API integrations.
  • Experience writing automated tests for integration-related code.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with AWS or Microsoft Azure cloud services.

Create, Upgrade, and Fix Collectors

  • Develop and maintain cloud-to-cloud collectors that retrieve data from various third-party services.
  • Create and upgrade resilient and performant API consumers and API actions.
  • Develop Python scripts using the client's publicly available SDK.
  • Ensure collectors handle API interactions reliably and efficiently.
  • Deliver production-ready Python scripts that can be integrated into the client's public automation library repository.

Create, Upgrade, and Fix Parsers

  • Develop and maintain parsers that transform and normalize data collected from third-party services.
  • Create YAML-based transformations that map third-party information to the client's data model.
  • Ensure that data transformations are accurate, consistent, and maintainable.
  • Provide the required tests and metadata files alongside parser implementations.
  • Troubleshoot and improve existing parsers based on integration requirements and data quality issues.
