Role description

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you will join a global eCommerce platform initiative supporting 50,000+ restaurants worldwide. As a Senior Test Automation Engineer, you will own test automation strategy, build scalable testing frameworks, and ensure the quality of a Node.js microservice-based platform across UI, API, messaging, and mobile layers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own test automation strategy and execution across the development lifecycle
  • Build and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Node.js and TypeScript
  • Develop UI automation tests using Playwright
  • Test GraphQL APIs, including complex queries and end-to-end scenarios
  • Validate MQTT and similar Pub/Sub interfaces such as WebSockets and SSE
  • Support Android test automation using Appium or similar frameworks
  • Analyze logs across distributed services to troubleshoot failures and identify root causes
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
  • Contribute to requirements clarification, grooming, and test planning
  • Ensure strong test coverage and product quality across releases
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices

REQUIREMENTS

  • 4+ years of experience as a Senior Test Automation
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript
  • Experience with test runners such as Mocha
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright
  • Experience testing MQTT, WebSockets, SSE, or similar Pub/Sub technologies
  • Experience testing GraphQL APIs and complex queries
  • Working knowledge of cloud environments and containerized deployments
  • Experience with Docker images and container registries
  • Strong knowledge of Git and Git-based workflows
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins
  • Ability to analyze and correlate logs across multiple applications and services
  • Experience with Jira or similar task and issue tracking tools
  • Familiarity with Android test automation using Appium or similar frameworks
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills
