Role description

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Software Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in LATAM. Our client is one of the world's largest and fastest-growing job sites.

Our client's hiring events platform is a live, high-traffic production product that receives a steady volume of client support requests, frequently tied to malfunctioning or misconfigured features. You will join the team responsible for diagnosing, triaging, and resolving these issues, with a particular focus on in-progress hiring events that are not performing as expected.

The work centers on debugging across interconnected systems and partnering closely with the Client Support and go-to-market (GTM) teams. The overall objective is to keep the product running reliably and sustain high client satisfaction, measured in part through user ratings.

Time Zone: U.S. Central Time (CT)

  • 3-5 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Java and Spring Boot as the primary skill set and first priority (event management and lobby backends).
  • Django and Python as a secondary skill set and second priority (event management and lobby backends).
  • React (event management, lobby, IRL, and jobseeker frontends).
  • Kafka (event management backend).
  • GraphQL (event management and lobby backends).

  • Experience with at least one of the following: Dagster, data lakes, or Amazon Athena.
  • Product management experience working with GTM teams and engineers on prioritization.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor, Windsurf).
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously.
  • Initiative and ownership, taking tasks forward (including merging and deploying code) without close supervision.
  • Clear and concise communication.
  • Comfort handling ambiguity.
  • Prioritization and strategic thinking.
  • Experience using data to troubleshoot production issues.
  • Analyze and resolve production issues, with particular focus on in-progress hiring events.
  • Partner closely with client-facing teams to triage and address support tickets.
  • Resolve issues promptly to meet established SLAs.
  • Monitor production systems and respond swiftly to alerts or performance degradation ("going red").
  • Support architecture changes and system integrations that may impact hiring events.
  • Maintain and update event logic in response to changes in dependencies and underlying systems.
  • Support and onboard new team members as additional roles are filled, with Lead- and Senior-level hires prioritized first.
