Skaffold & Dev
Outside the dev loop, skaffold build -t builds and tags once, skaffold run builds and deploys one-off, skaffold render emits final manifests for CI, and skaffold delete tears the deployment down.
Where skaffold dev is a continuous loop, build, run, render, and delete are one-shot commands suited to CI and scripted deploys.
skaffold build -t produces tagged images without deploying, and skaffold render prints the manifests with those tags substituted so a separate tool can apply them.
skaffold run does a single build-and-deploy then exits, and skaffold delete cleans up exactly what run created.
build -t <tag> builds and tags, no deploy.
run = one-off build + deploy, then exit.
render emits manifests; delete tears down.
