About the role
As a Full-stack Engineer, you will build and maintain web applications for our Client, a large European public institution, working across the front-end, back-end services, the data layer, and their deployment in the cloud.
Responsibilities
- Development of front-end website architecture
- Design of user interactions on web pages.
- Development of back-end website applications
- Implement core business logic
- Apply data and security best practices: input validation, authentication/authorization, secure storage, compliant logging and monitoring
- Ensure web applications are optimized for performance and functionality across different browsers and devices
- Design responsive applications
- Design and develop APIs
- Participating in the design and creation of scalable software
- Maintenance of code integrity and organization
- Writing clean, functional code on the front- and back-end
- Compile and analyze data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement
- Perform unit/integration testing, debug, fix, and validate code changes
- Deliver solutions that fulfil functional and non-functional requirements and align with user expectations
- Write technical documentation
- Develop and maintain features across the entire stack, from designing user interfaces and consuming APIs to implementing server-side business logic and database interactions
- Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms using CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies
- Bridge the gap between front-end and back-end developers, facilitating communication and ensuring cohesive integration of all system components
- Draft precise technical specs for AI agents (e.g., Kiro) to generate boilerplate code (Angular services, Spring Boot controllers), test cases (Karma, JUnit) or Oracle PL/SQL scripts
- Review and refine AI outputs for correctness (logic, edge cases), compliance (security, coding standards) and performance
- Document AI contributions (e.g., code comments, ADRs) and train teams on prompt engineering
Requirements
- University degree corresponding to Level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework (which typically corresponds to a master's level or 5 years of higher education), and minimum 5 years of IT professional experience
- Very good knowledge of English, both spoken and written, corresponding to Level B2
- Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and experience with frameworks/libraries including Vaadin 7, Angular, React, Vue, and Bootstrap
- Expertise in Java 8/17 and back-end stacks (Java/Node/PHP), including JEE (EJB 3, CDI, JMS), Spring Boot, and Hibernate JPA.
- Advanced experience in designing, building, and securing RESTful APIs and web services using Kafka, Protobuf, JAX-WS, JAXB, and OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.
- Proficiency with Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB, including schema design, query optimization, and version control with Flyway
- Strong understanding of application servers, specifically Weblogic 12c and 14
- Experience with modern build and dependency management tools such as Maven, Webpack, and Vite
- Solid background in automated testing and related tooling, e.g., JUnit 4 and Mockito
- Expert knowledge of Git workflows (GitFlow, trunk-based) using GitLab and Bitbucket, with an understanding of legacy systems using SVN
- Knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Azure) and experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Bicep for environment provisioning
- Understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) for application deployment
- Deep knowledge of authentication and authorization protocols and standards (e.g., OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT)
- Proven experience working within Agile methodologies and using JIRA for task and project management
- Ability to write clear, structured technical specifications for AI code agents (e.g., Kiro, GitHub Copilot)
- Awareness of AI limitations (e.g., hallucinations, bias, licensing risks) and mitigation strategies
- Experience integrating AI tools into software development workflows (e.g., coding, PR reviews, documentation, CI/CD)
