Dark Web & Breach Intel

Defensive threat intelligence monitors paste sites, breach forums, and credential dumps for an organization's own leaked data. Finding exposed credentials early lets the team alert users and rotate the credentials before attackers use them — a protective use, not participation in trading.

Leak monitoring is scoped tightly to your own organization. You track mentions of your domains, employee emails, and assets so you learn about a breach from intelligence rather than from an incident.

The sources are paste sites, breach forums, and aggregated credential dumps such as stealer logs and combo lists. The point of reviewing them is detection: knowing what of yours is exposed, not collecting other people's data.

Detection only matters if it triggers a response. When exposed credentials surface, the defensive workflow is to alert affected users and rotate the credentials immediately, shrinking the window an attacker could exploit. This is protective use — never participation in buying or trading the data.

01

Scope monitoring to your own org's data only.

02

Watch paste sites, breach forums, and credential dumps.

03

Respond by alerting users and rotating exposed credentials.

# monitor for your org's leaked data
# paste sites + breach forums
# stealer logs + combo lists (defensive)
# alert + rotate exposed credentials

Read the implementation

Connect each part of the code to the concept before you type.

1. Scope

Defensive monitoring is scoped to your own organization's data — your domains, your employees, your assets.

# monitor for your org's leaked data

2. Sources

Paste sites and breach forums are where leaked data is often posted or advertised; analysts watch them for mentions of their org.

# paste sites + breach forums

3. Credential dumps

Stealer logs (from infostealer malware) and combo lists aggregate stolen credentials; reviewing them defensively reveals which of your accounts are exposed.

# stealer logs + combo lists (defensive)

4. Response

The payoff is action: alert affected users and rotate exposed credentials before attackers can reuse them.

# alert + rotate exposed credentials
