Scanning & Enum
On an authorized scope, each open service gets its own enumeration: SMB shares and users via enum4linux-ng or an smbclient null session, web issues via nikto, and SNMP data via the default public community string. Default credentials and anonymous access are common footholds.
Port scanning tells you what is running; enumeration tells you what it exposes. For SMB, enum4linux-ng -A gathers users, groups, shares, and password policy, frequently through an anonymous null session that requires no credentials.
smbclient -L //target -N lists shares with no password, a quick test for anonymous access. On the web side, nikto -h scans an HTTP server for outdated versions, dangerous default files, and misconfigurations.
snmpwalk -v2c -c public queries SNMP using the default public community string, which often still leaks interface, route, and process data. Across all of these, default credentials and anonymous access are recurring footholds — and as always, results from automated tools are verified before reporting.
enum4linux-ng -A enumerates SMB users, shares, and policy.
smbclient -L //target -N tests anonymous (null-session) share access.
Default community strings and credentials are frequent footholds.

enum4linux-ng -A targetsmbclient -L lists shares and -N attempts it with no password, testing for anonymous access.
smbclient -L //target -Nnikto checks a web server for known issues, outdated software, and risky default files.
nikto -h http://targetsnmpwalk with the default public community string can leak system and network details.
snmpwalk -v2c -c public targetRead the concept map and follow the code breakdown.
Type the implementation, repair mistakes and work through every recall exercise.
Use the final check without hints; revisit weak concepts in short practice sessions.
