Role description

Project description

The resource will work as part of a team responsible for Murex Environment and Configuration Management for a banking client. The role involves end-to-end setup, maintenance, and support of Murex environments across DEV, SIT, UAT, PRE-PROD, and PROD landscapes - ensuring environment stability, managing configuration deployments, supporting EOD/batch operations, and collaborating with functional and technical teams to ensure smooth delivery of Murex projects and releases.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end setup and maintenance of Murex environments including deployment of application binaries, EN patches, PSU upgrades, and periodic environment refreshes.
  • Perform configuration changes and code deployments across multiple environments to ensure application stability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve environment issues involving service failures, performance degradation, EOD batch failures, connectivity disruptions, and production incidents.
  • Manage certificate renewals (client - server, load-balancer), port openings, and application license renewals.
  • Execute database backup/restore operations, masked DB dumps, and export-import activities with data consistency validation.
  • Perform database housekeeping - table reorganization, rebuilds, TMP/backup cleanup, and LOB movement to reclaim space and improve performance.
  • Design and deploy automation scripts, service launchers, and process automation to reduce manual BAU effort.
  • Configure and manage job scheduling using tools such as Control-M, Autosys, or Crontab.
  • Implement monitoring solutions for service instance failures and proactive alerting.
  • Support Murex upgrade and migration activities (binary upgrades, platform migrations, version merging).
  • Coordinate with Murex vendor for fixes, patches, solutions, and audit remediation.
  • Manage BCP/DR switchover and switchback activities.

SKILLS

Must have

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in Murex Environment & Configuration Management (ECM).
  • Strong experience with Murex MX.3 platform - environment setup, binary deployment, patch management, and configuration.
  • Expertise in EOD/BOD batch processing - monitoring, troubleshooting, optimization, and parallelization.
  • Strong Oracle DBA skills - backup/restore, export-import, table reorganization, performance tuning, and SQL.
  • Proficiency in Shell Scripting (Bash/Ksh) and automation on Linux/AIX/UNIX platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with job scheduling tools (Control-M, Autosys, Crontab).
  • Experience with Murex certificate management, license management, and security deployments.
  • Knowledge of Murex technical architecture (MX System Architecture, DRILL, MLC).
  • Strong understanding of incident, problem, release, and configuration management processes (ITIL).
  • Ability to collaborate with Murex vendor and cross-functional stakeholders.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Murex version upgrades/migrations.
  • Experience with Sybase administration in addition to Oracle.
  • Familiarity with Murex Datamart, MXML, and reporting frameworks.
  • Experience with database masking and PII data handling.
  • Knowledge of load-balancing configuration for Murex applications.
  • Experience in Murex MLC and Market Risk engine optimization.
  • Exposure to Weblogic server administration for Murex deployments.
  • Experience working in large-scale banking/financial services environments (Tier-1 banks).
